1. The tour is not barrier-free
  2. A large number of stairs are walked up and down on the way through the accelerator. The paths can also be uneven. Footwear in which you can walk safely is therefore strongly recommended (please no flip-flops or similar)
  3. The MAMI accelerator and the experiments use a large number of components that generate electromagnetic fields. When the accelerator is switched off during the runs, both the number of components in operation and the residual fields are significantly reduced. However, it cannot be excluded with certainty that strong magnetic fields may still prevail in the vicinity of the walkways in individual cases. Visitors with pacemakers or similar magnetic field-sensitive medical-technical aids or other devices should therefore avoid visiting the accelerator and otherwise do so at their own risk.
  4. Please bear in mind – e.g. if you suffer from claustrophobia – before visiting MAMI that all the halls of the MAMI accelerator facility and the associated experiments are located underground. In addition, during the tour you will also briefly pass through narrow stairwells or corridors and elevators may be used.
  5. Eating and drinking is not permitted during the tour of the accelerator.
